about

This live double digital album from legendary Boston rockers The Neighborhoods contains 29 songs recorded live on October 24, 1992 during the band's final show at the late-lamented and equally legendary Rathskeller in Kenmore Square/Boston, MA. The tracks include 24 Hoods' originals and 5 ripping cover tunes. The songs touch on every phase of the Hoods' storied career, featuring tunes culled form almost all of the band's studio recordings, and given the full Hoods live workout on this double length set. The album also features 5 previously unreleased songs from the band's 1992 basement demos, known to Hoods cognoscenti simply as the "Last of the Mohicans."
The 1992 Hoods lineup featured founding member and Boston rock icon David Minehan accompanied by his longtime sidekick bassist and vocalist Lee Harrington and drummer Carl Coletti. That lineup performs on 21 songs. The Hoods' circa 1979 lineup of Minehan, drummer "Careful" Mike Quaglia and bassist John Hartcorn reunite to play 6 of the band's classic songs, while longtime bandmates Minehan, Harrington, and Quaglia join up on 2 of the tracks. In addition, Brad Whitford, superstar guitarist from Aerosmith and producer and mentor to the Hoods, also sits in on 2 songs, the Hoods' classic "Roxxanne" and an Aerosmith-flavored cover of the Rufus Thomas gem, "Walkin' The Dog."
The album was mixed by David Minehan at his studio Wollly Mammoth Sound. In keeping with the band's hard-won reputation as a stellar and stalwart live act, there are absolutely no overdubs, edits, samples, or autotune one the live album. . . NOTHING! It's pure, uncut, 100% live.

The Neighborhoods Boston, Massachusetts

A punk-fueled garage-rock sound with big hooks, melodies, and snarling six-strings, The Neighborhoods are pretty much where it all starts in Boston Rock.
